Thoughts on reception vs. reflection coming from a wonderful weekend full of gonging!

Standard

I had two wonderful gong meditations over the weekend.  I feel blessed to have them so well attended and to be given the opportunity to perform this service.  I find my work with the gong to be a centering and healing practice in my life and I love sharing it.  The weekend opened Friday night at Vision Quest Metaphysical bookstore where we filled the room to capacity and shared a journey of personal healing through the vibrations of the gong.  And then the weekend wrapped up with a Sunday evening Full moon eclipse above while we shared a lunar gong ceremony to light the fires of inner transformation at {9} The Gallery. At both events over the weekend I found myself talking a little about the ideas of reception and reflection.  We often think of the lunar current as receptive to the solar currents active yet think about what the moon actually does.  It reflects the light.  In that vein I asked them, and also myself, to spend some time considering what we reflect versus what we receive in our lives.  For example, when some one is angry with us often times we tend to receive that when perhaps reflecting it would serve us better.  On the other end of things what about love?  When we are given love are we too uncomfortable to receive it and therefore only reflect it?  Things to consider…

In any case my next gong event is coming up on the New Moon and here is some info on it below.  Hope to see you there.
