Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law
Alright folks, our Kabbalah series begins this Sunday and for those of you who might be unaware, I wanted to give a little bit of a teaser of the type of information that we’ll be covering in this weekend’s first class.
Kabbalah is a vast subject that spans multiple cultures, time frames and ideas, I would have no hope of covering the whole scope of the subject in even these five introductory classes. What I’ve decided to do in this case is to choose 5 individual subjects that can “stand-alone,” giving the fundamentals of their respective disciplines. Each class will be founded upon the basis of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, the central glyph that unites all of the ideas encompassed by the system.
This first class will cover the subject of the Ten Holy Sephira, ten circles that represent the primary and fundamental building blocks of the Universe. We will be covering the necessary evolution of these ideas, one evolving naturally into the next and will explore several different ways to incorporate this process into our daily lives.
Kabbalah involves developing an ordered consciousness. Its methods help us to discover the root of our ideas and prejudices and from that lofty perch, to discover the basis of our True self and the method of bringing that self-hood down into our daily consciousness.
I hope to see you there!
