Diwali Art

In many places around the word people are celebrating the festival of lights known as Diwali. I have been working on this piece as part of my personal Diwali practice.  It is 12inch square canvas; mixed media to include pastels, shaprie marker, acrylic paint & an image of the goddess Lakshmi. In some places I’ve mixed the spice tumeric in with paint and I have glued on some flower petals from my altar.  It feels strange writing about my art.  I spent the first few decades of my life not believing myself to be creative; all the while silently wishing I was!  I feel as if it is time for me to come out into the open with more of the things I am creating.
